A life-long writer, Larry Hoefling spent more than twenty years in the broadcasting industry as a deejay, newscaster, and manager, at both TV and radio stations.
An article he wrote for the state desk of the Daily Oklahoman, prompted the production of a radio documentary that focused on the need for a change in the Oklahoma criminal justice system, and the identification of victim's rights. Hoefling was honored by the Oklahoma State House of Representatives for the work, which also won awards from Columbia University in New York City, and the Scripps - Howard Foundation of Cleveland.
In the tradition of his grandfather, who owned an Irish pub in the early 1900's, Hoefling was a working partner in an Irish Restaurant and Pub in Tulsa, and now operates an Irish-themed bookstore in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
A short story entitled TALL TALES AND A TWO DOLLAR WAGER was published in 1984, and Hoefling is the author of CHASING THE FRONTIER: Scots-Irish in Early America (2005), and LAST OF THE TRUE IRISH, a Novel (2006).
